Come and join us exploring nature! This month we will walk in the majestic rainforests of Eungella, learning about moss - these gorgeous plants thrive in the cool wet conditions of the forest. We will chat about their life cycle and spot the many varieties along the way.
Meet at the Broken River carpark at 10am.
The walk we'll be doing together is the 1.6km return Granite Bend circuit. The track is level and fairly easy. For more information: https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/eungella/journeys#granite_bend_circuit.
There will be an opportunity for some guided nature journaling - where we draw or write about the moss we saw. We encourage parents to get a nature journal as well and learn alongside your child! Model to them that you are not afraid to give something a go and make mistakes along the way.
After the walk we'll share lunch together in the picnic area. There are public toilets available, and a small cafe at the Information centre is usually open.
What to bring:
- Comfortable shoes, sunhat, sunscreen
- Bottle of water
- Packed lunch
- Nature journal (A5 blank page book)
- Pencil(s)
Optional:
- Watercolour pencils
- Small paintbrush
Parents are responsible for the safety of their own children, and need to be present with their children during this activity.
