Come and join us exploring nature! This month we will walk along the shores of some waterways and learn about the algae we can see in the water, as well as aquatic plants.
We’ll meet at 10 at the Botanical Gardens cafe.
There will be an opportunity for some guided nature journaling - where we draw or write about the algae we saw. We encourage parents to get a nature journal as well and learn alongside your child! Model to them that you are not afraid to give something a go and make mistakes along the way.
After the walk we'll share lunch together under some cool trees.
What to bring:
- Comfortable shoes, sunhat, sunscreen
- Bottle of water
- Packed lunch
- Nature journal (A5 blank page book)
- Pencil(s)
Optional:
- Watercolour pencils
- Small paintbrush
Please take a look through our community values and chat with your children about these before the walk.
Parents are responsible for the safety of their own children, and need to be present with their children during this activity.
